WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Daines & Gray has been part of the local community for generations, with a story rooted in hard work, loyalty, and a real passion for quality butchery.
The shop takes its name from the original owners, Mr Daines and Mr Gray, who built a trusted reputation for quality meats, skilled craftsmanship, and friendly service within the local community. Over the years, the business became well known not only for the quality of its produce, but for the relationships built with generations of loyal customers.
THE NEXT GENERATION
02
When Mr Daines and Mr Gray decided to retire, Andy and two business partners took over the business, continuing the tradition and reputation the shop had built within the community.
After many successful years together, the partners retired, leaving Andy to continue leading Daines & Gray independently.
03
A FAMILY RUN BUSINESS
Today, Daines & Gray is proudly family-run.
Andy works alongside Dale, who first joined the shop at just 16 years old and has dedicated his working life to the business ever since. Today, the family tradition continues into the next generation, with Dale’s son Max and Andy’s son Fin both now working in the shop and learning the trade — helping carry forward the same tradition.
The team also includes Andy’s former wife, who remains an important part of the business and the close-knit atmosphere that customers know and value, alongside Danny, a loyal and trusted member of the team who has been part of the shop for many years.

QUALITY FIRST
Together, the team shares the same commitment that Daines & Gray has always stood for — sourcing the best quality meat, preparing every cut with care, and bringing the finest produce to your table at home.
For us, it’s not just about selling meat.
It’s about tradition, craftsmanship, and serving the community that has supported us for generations.
